SMART-goalsI am a big fan of setting SMART goals and always planning ahead to what you want to achieve.   Research shows it works (Harvard business school has many reports about this), they act as motivation but also help us to create more success in our lives.  Athletes training for a olympic race will always have their mind set on a time or winning their race.  we have such powerful minds, and we all need to set targets to help us move forward, giving us something to aim for.

oprah.pngBut I really feel we should take time to celebrate, we are coming to the end of 2015 and I feel it’s such a worthwhile exercise to look back at what you have achieved and most importantly congratulate yourself.  We are all so busy planning ahead but taking time to reflect is as important, this is also how we learn and improve ourselves.

What have you achieved in 2015, and what are you proud of?

What would you like to achieve by the end of 2015?  There’s still time!  You can do anything if you put your mind to it, and believe in yourself.

Have you achieved everything you set out to do?

What areas have you exceeded your goals?

And what have you learnt?  How can you improve moving forward?

Whatever you have achieved in 2015 whether it’s big or small, make sure you give yourself a pat on the back.  Recognition is so motivating and I have often found that when you are a mum at home we don’t always receive this, so it’s important to recognise your achievements, whether you are working, running your own business, or a stay at home mum.  I find in my business that the women (and men) get the most amount of reward and excitement from the recognition and being awarded for something they have achieved.  It’s interesting what a powerful effect that has on our feelings and mindset.  I once presented to 600 people about my journey through my business.  I cannot tell you how uplifting an experience that was, sharing from the heart and inspiring others fuels your belief and motivation in a big way!  It was my moment of fame, (but hoping for many more), I loved it, it was without doubt a big achievement in my business journey.

How could you help boost someone else by recognising what they have achieved?  Tell them, and make them feel good.

So where are you now in your life and / or business?  Is that where you want to be?  If not, then what do you need to do to get there?  Make a plan now.  What is it you would love to achieve in 2016?

I love hearing people’s goals and aspirations for the year ahead, so please do share with me….we can support and motivate each other together.  I  think about goals in categories / areas of your life, i.e Family, Health, Wealth, Business, Fitness…  Dream big and decide how you would like your life to look… You can change any situation.  I love to remind myself of this quote from Ghandhi:

“Your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, your habits become your values, your values become your destiny.”

So, what you think about becomes your reality.  Do you tell yourself you can do something or do you find it hard to commit?

We all control our own destiny – decide how you’d like yours to look.

So, let me ask you, what do you want 2016 to give you and your family?

holiday.jpgIs it a dream holiday?  A new house?  Start your own business?  Enter a sports race?  Get control of your health?  Win a new piece of business?  New baby?  Be recognised of something?  Help someone else?

Create a plan, write it down, pop it on your fridge…and commit.

Over to you.

I would love to hear your plans, dreams and goals for 2016, so all that is missing on this page is your comments, please do leave me a message.

All the best for 2016,

Claire x

P.S.  Pass it on.
